Tipperary hockey international honoured with UCC Sports Award

Caoimhe Perdue from Cashel received an award for her hockey achievements, having played in two World Cups, junior and senionr.

The 39th UCC sports star awards were presented at a gala dinner in the River Lee Hotel, Cork on Monday, April 24.

The 12 awards were presented to teams and individuals who had outstanding success at both national and international level while trying to combine their sport and study commitment at UCC.


Bank of Ireland and the River Lee Hotel sponsored the event and 12-sports star year awards were awarded to outstanding athletes from one of the widest fields in recent years.


Guest of honour at the event was Dr Orla Farmer UCC and Cork Ladies Gaelic Football star.


Caoimhe Perdue from Cashel received an award for her hockey achievements, having played both a Junior World Cup in South Africa and a Senior World Cup in Amsterdam and playing on the UCC Division1 Hockey team that won Munster Senior Cup
