St. Michael’s train ran off track last night in their quest for the double in Tipperary. The west Tipperary side are currently in the hunt for the Clonmel Credit Union Premier League and are going for an amazing 7th title in a row but they dropped points at Cooke Park last night to a confident Bansha Celtic side.
St. Michael's ended up drawing the west Tipp derby 1-1 in what was a tense TSDL encounter yesterday evening with both goals being scored from the penalty spot. Both sides had chances to win it but St. Michael's, who have had a busy schedule in recent months, will regroup now.
The disappointed home supporters in Cooke Park will see their team get another chance to jump the hurdles that stand between them and that seventh title in a row.. The FAI Junior cup finalists are currently four points adrift of Clonmel Town with three games in hand, so it is all to play for yet in the race to the title with Peake Villa (currently in second place) also in the hunt.
