Emer Dunne is performing in Tipperary
There is a real folk treat in store for all in Carrick-on-Suir this June bank holiday, with the
annual Clancy Brothers Music and Art Festival taking place from May 31st to June 2nd.
Among the great line up, rising star and folk artist, Emer Dunne and her group are hitting the
stage in Brewery Lane Theatre on Thursday June 1st for a show of great music to both
listen to, and sing along with.
Enjoy the timeless, meaningful folk songs including ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’, ‘Sweet Sixteen’
and ‘Grace’ alongside some contemporary surprises!
This is a show packed with variety and vitality, with Emer described by Hot Press as ‘An entertainer through and through.’
After the release of her debut folk album, ‘Hourglass’ produced by the renowned Bill Shanley (Mary Black, Paul Brady) this singer has been described as ‘A definite rising star’ by Irish Music Magazine.
According to Emer: “We are really looking forward to coming and performing in Tipperary and being part of this great festival. The Clancy Brothers put folk music on the map and sang many of the great folk songs that have stood the test of time. We
look forward to performing in this lovely theatre and meeting with the audience. The show is
packed with well-loved folk songs and there is something for all to enjoy!”
Emer will be joined by the skilful guitarist Eamonn Moran and seven times All-Ireland Flute
champion, Robert Harvey. All three professional musicians have a wealth of experience.
Emer's voice and songs are gaining great traction following her performance on the Today Show on RTE and with frequent radio play on national and regional stations.
Emer has received great reviews from Irish Music Magazine, Hot Press, Irish Country Living, RTE ‘Behind the Music’, Irish Independent and more.
From singing at the Celtic Ball in Rome at the tender age of ten, across Europe and Japan
with an Irish dance troop, to the release of her debut folk album Hourglass, Emer's voice is
soaring to new heights.
Most recently Emer has just finished touring with renowned folk act, The Fureys,
culminating in a final performance at Vicar Street in March.
She is also working on her own headline performances and other festivals this summer including being selected for Forest
Festival this July.
So don’t miss this opportunity to catch Emer and her group and to enjoy listening and singing along with some of the great folk songs.
