Finn's Pub in Templemore. Cllr Noel Coonan told a recent meeting that its closure is yet another symptom of a neglected rural Ireland.
Cllr Noel Coonan told a recent meeting of Thurles Municipal District that he was greatly saddened to hear of the closure of a popular and greatly valued pub in Templemore.
“Unfortunately,” he remarked, “after 17 years in business, Finn's pub on Mary Street, formerly known as Dowlings, is closing. This, I think, is symptomatic of a declining rural Ireland, a rural Ireland which has not received the support it deserves.”
He said Finn's is a very attractive pub, with a lovely facade and welcoming interior and will be sorely missed.
He wished the owners well in the years to come.
