The Cashel man couldn’t have had a more difficult task on his first championship start, with Tom Morrissey causing him and the Tipp defence endless trouble. Morrissey found space all too often and Connolly was always chasing shadows. Steadied into the game as the minutes ticked by and was good on the ball, but he was up against a player in real form. Downhill from here.
