The participants of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride stopped off in Cahir last Sunday and many people arrived to look at the beautiful motorbikes they rode in on, many were of vintage class. All of the riders were suited and booted in distinguished gentleman’s clothes to mark the special day.

Cyril Helnwien from Kilsheelan started the Clonmel DGR after taking part in the Dublin event for a few years to highlight the fact that men don’t talk about their problems and don’t seek help.

The event also raises funds for prostate cancer awareness, the second most common cancer in Ireland. There were a couple of riders from Cahir taking part on the day too.

The ride travelled through Clonmel, Cahir, Cashel and Fethard. There were stops in each town where people came out at see these beautiful special bikes. A total of €12,318 was raised through this event. Well done to all involved.
