Footpath improvement and traffic calming works proposed for busy west Tipperary village

Cllr Declan Burgess at Knockavilla where proposals for footpath improvements and traffic calming works are being made

Councillor Declan Burgess welcomes the progress made with the proposed regeneration project for Knockavilla Village. This stage is made possible from the funding secured last year for a design and preparation work.

The proposed works will consist of the following; installation of new sections of footpath, increasing width of existing footpaths, upgrade of pedestrian crossing facilities, buildouts, traffic calming, renewed road markings and renewed road signage.

“This project is a long waited development and I first highlighted the issue as a table of motion at the Municipal District meeting earlier in this council term. I believe public realm enhancements and safety measures are so important for the village.”

AVAILABLE TO INSPECT
Drawings and particulars of the proposals are available for inspection at the Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District Office, Rosanna Road, Tipperary Town, and may be inspected during normal office hours from June 1 to July 3, 2023 inclusive and on the Tipperary County Council website at The drawing and Particulars (PDF, 3.7MB).

Submissions regarding the proposal may be made in writing to Marcus O’ Connor, Director of Services, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, on or before 5 pm on July 3, 2023.
“I have been in regular contact with the council engineers and have been pushing for Tipperary County Council to deliver this project as soon as possible. It is imperative that the local authority put funding in place”.
