BAY TO BREAKERS - SAN FRANCISCO - MOORE WINS OVER 60 CATEGORY
The Bay to Breakers 12k was held in San Francisco, USA on Sunday, May 21. It’s a hugely popular race that attracts more than 50,000 runners, with many donning fancy dress. Michael Moore was visiting his daughter Stephanie and decided to get a race under his belt while there.
He won the Over 60 category in 51:31, a great achievement in such a huge field of runners.
CORK CITY MARATHON
The Cork City Marathon was held on Sunday last. Two club athletes competed on what was a very hot and sunny day.
In the Half Marathon we had Pat Hayes in 2:21:22. Taking on the Full Marathon was Brigid Browne in 4:59:22.
Well done to both, taking on 21k and 42k respectively in the heat we’ve experienced for the last couple of weeks.
DEADMAN’S 5K
The Deadman’s 5k was held on Friday last in Carrick- on-Suir. It was a sunny evening and it was a challenging course.
We had one club athlete competing, Michael Ryan, who was 10th in 18:28 and was second Over 40.
