A family fun day and lunch for all is available this afternoon where a large turnout is expected.

Drombane Co-op has built on previous success and continues to grow. With a large local base, it serves the wider area as well and they have recently opened a new grocery shop to add to the vast stores and hardware selling element of the business.

Chairperson in Drombane, John O'Dwyer, has seen many changes in farming practices and in rural life during his time involved since the old creamery days. He says that at its core, staff that really care about what they do in in the Co-op: “Drombane has been blessed with great staff and mostly local staff that have as much interest in the place as any management always and ever.

“We have been lucky that way and they treat the customers with respect and that is very important as well. Things are doing fine and we won't ever go too wild but it is a great achievement to be still here after 125 or so years and the intention is to be here for another good while yet.”
