Penneys has opened its newly revamped and extended store in Clonmel following an investment of €5.7 million by the retailer.
It's good news for the local economy in the town, as tosupport the bigger store size and in advance of the busy summer season, Penneys will be creating 20 new positions as part of the extension at Clonmel, representing a 44% increase in the store team, and providing a significant boost to the local economy.
Located on O’Connell Street, the renovated store now features an additional lower ground floor, bringing an even bigger and better Penneys experience to customers in Tipperary.
As part of the retailer’s commitment to invest €250 million in Ireland over the next 10 years, Primark has invested €5.7 million in refurbishing and enhancing the popular Tipperary store, with a focus on creating the fantastic in-store experience the retailer is known and loved for.
The former basement stock room level has been converted into a new retail space for the kids, menswear, and homeware departments, with the existing floor now featuring an even bigger womenswear department.
The refurbished store now spans 18,800 sq. ft of prime retail space across two floors, an increase of 54% from the original store size. Also included in the refresh is a new customer lift and training room.
