Dan McCormack says that next Saturday’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final against Galway will be “a huge challenge”.

“They’re going to be disappointed after the Leinster final as well, the way they lost it. It will be a fifty-fifty game, we’re looking forward to it”.

Saturday’s landslide 32-points win over Offaly in the preliminary quarter-final in Tullamore helped Tipperary to recover from their defeat by Waterford in the last match of the group stage of the Munster championship, the Borris-Ileigh player stated.

“Obviously we were disappointed after the Waterford game. It probably wasn’t a fair reflection (of us).

“We weren’t happy with the level of performance we got, so obviously we were looking for a reaction today and I think we got that.

“We felt we let ourselves down in a lot of ways (against Waterford). Three weeks is a long time, we wanted a match straight away after it, just to get it out of the system. Thankfully we got it today and we have a big week ahead of us again.

“We’ll take our learnings from why we weren’t ready for the Waterford game.

“We took some nice scores (against Offaly), probably conceded a lot as well. There's plenty to work on but we’re happy enough coming away with the win.

“There were places up for grabs as well, everyone is trying to put their hand up again and I think a lot of lads did that today”.

Dan McCormack received a black card for a foul on Offaly’s Cillian Kiely a minute before half-time.

Did he think that Limerick referee Johnny Murphy’s decision was harsh?

“I’m not too sure about the actual rule, I thought you had to go to ground to get it, I’ll have to look back at it.

"Thankfully it didn’t make too much of a difference”.
