St Patrick’s Camogie Club had a day to remember on Saturday when they were hosted by Kinnitty in Offaly.
After an exciting opening game it ended all square, St Patrick’s 0-4 Lusmagh Drumcullen (Offaly) 1-1.
St Patrick’s needed a win in the second game and the team duly obliged with a superb 3-10 to 0-1 victory over Cappoquin of Waterford.
In their final group game the Tipp side lost out to an excellent Bennettsbridge 3-3 to 0-3.
This put the Tipperary side into a shield semi-final, and with the players eager to get to the final they put in a great performance to beat Wolfe Tones 0-5 to 0-1.
And so a shield final beckoned against the hosts Kinnitty of Offaly. Despite a long day of camogie and lots of tired bodies, St Patrick’s were excellent in the Shield Final and ran out deserving winners to the delight of their supporters on a final scoreline of 3-8 to 1-0, making it a day to remember.
