Some of the artists who are exhibiting in the 55th annual South Tipperary Art Group (STAG) exhibition at Clonmel Library
The 55th annual exhibition by adult artists of South Tipperary Art Group (STAG), which was officially launched by District Mayor Pat English last week, continues at Clonmel Library until 1pm this Saturday, July 1.
The exhibition is open during library hours, but as the space is closed occasionally please ring the library to confirm on 052-61 66130.
Collections of artwork bought in the exhibition will be available from 3.30pm on this Saturday or by arrangement with the STAG Organiser Maureen Purcell at 086-8096823.
Well done to new chairperson Lesley, who welcomed and thanked the Mayor for launching the exhibition and who gave a run down on all of STAG’s very many activities to date.
It is a wonderful exhibition with many local, national and international scenes and still life in watercolour, oils and acrylics, some fantasy artworks, fimo, ceramics, epoxy resin, pouring paint, pastels and quirky artwork, from the group’s Irish and international members.
The group is delighted to have new STAG members from the Ukraine, Korea, Pakistan, the UK and India exhibiting also.
It’s great that the artistic legacy of one of its founder members, the late Michael Burke, is being carried on by his son Vinny, grand daughter Brooke and sister Mary, all of whom are members of STAG and have artwork in the exhibition.
Many artworks have been sold already and with four days left there is still time to drop into the library for a visit.
A deposit will secure any art piece.
The group’s website is South Tipperary Art Group.ie and STAG also have a Facebook page.
