Templemore native Sean Guerins is back playing football in the League of Ireland much to the delight of Treaty United supporters in Limerick as their former player returns hoping to lead them to glory in the First Division.
The stylish Tipperary defender, who played with St. Michael's in Tipperary town previously, will strengthen their confidence as they look to make the Airtricity League First Division play-offs and get back to the big time in Irish football.
Guerins was part of the Treaty squad that entered the First Division in 2021 and soon after made his club debut as they took to the field against Bray Wanderers that season.
He became a fans favourite as he lined out for the club over 50 times but, due to a change in his work pattern, left the club in January of this year.
A talented footballer, Guerins won an FAI Junior Cup with St. Michael's in 2019 and previously, as an 18-year-old, played with Athlone Town in 2012 alongside current Treaty manager Tommy Barrett.
The opportunity has arrived for his return to the fold now with Treaty United this summer and Tommy Barrett has welcomed the experienced Templemore native back by drafting him immediately into the first team squad, for Friday's game with Waterford.
Treaty United are currently in sixth position while Waterford are flying high in 2nd position on the league table, 19 points clear of their Munster rivals.
Kick off in Limerick at the Markets Field is at 7.45pm and all eyes from Tipperary will be finely tuned to see if the Templemore defenders sees game time and gets straight back into action.
