Tipperary athlete wins silver medal in national 10,000 metres final

David Mansfield finished runner-up in the national 10,000 metres final

David Mansfield won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres senior final at the 123.ie National Combined Events Championships held at Morton Stadium in Santry at the weekend.

On the opening day of the games on Saturday, the Clonmel athlete finished the runner-up behind David McGlynn of Waterford AC, while Conan McCaughey of North Belfast Harriers took the bronze.

Congratulations are extended to David on another fine achievement.

An international athlete, he holds the Tipperary record for the marathon, which he set with a time of 2:16:08 in Seville last year.
