Tipperary village in mourning after tragic death of community member

The late Ronan Dwyer who died following a road traffic accident on Sunday night

The Ballylooby community is in mourning following the tragic death of Ronan Dwyer in a road traffic accident on Sunday evening.

The tragedy devastated the community which had earlier in the day came together to celebrate a Gala Day and Tractor Run family day out organised by Ballylooby Community Council.

In a statement on their Facebook page  members of the Ballylooby Community Council  extended deepest condolences to the Dwyer family on their loss.
"Ronan was a dear friend to many and helped out within the community whenever it was needed. He will be forever missed.
Our thoughts are with his parents, brothers, sister-in-law, nieces, extended family & circle of friends at this time," said the statement.

Ronan Dwyer,Croughatour, Ballylooby will be sadly  missed by his heartbroken parents Seamus and Alice, brothers Paul and Seamie, sister-in-law Melissa, nieces Keighley and Lydia, uncles and aunts and extended family and a large circle of friends.

 Reposing at his parents' residence West Burgess, Ballylooby (E21 AH67), on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon in St. Kiernan's Church, Ballylooby, and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Gardaí attended the scene of the fatal road traffic collision in Ballylooby late on Sunday July 16.

The collision, which involved a car and a pedestrian occurred at Burgess West, Ballylooby at approximately 11.25p.m. A male pedestrian (41 years) was fatally injured in the collision. His body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem will take place.

The male driver, aged 26 years was uninjured.

The road was closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. 

Gardaí in Cahir are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
