Tipperary pair to get Premier interest underway in this weekends National Championships

Katie Bergin Moyne AC 200m and Sharlene Mawdesley Newport AC 400m will get a super weekend of athletics underway at The National Senior T&F Championships in Santry on Saturday.

Katie goes in her heat of 200m just before 1pm, there are three heats in the 200m which include Rhasidat Adeleke (Tallaght AC), who already has a qualifying time for Paris Olympics, Lucy Mae Sleeman (Leevale AC) who goes on sprint scholarship to Texas University later in the season.

Katie will need to be at her best to secure a lane in the final at 3pm. Sharlene Mawdsley Newport AC 400m, has had her best season to date running a pb of 51.36s in Spain in early June, and has the fastest time on paper of all the entries.

But she will have to produce it on the track to keep Olympians Phil Healy (Bandon AC), Sophie Becker (Raheny Shamrocks), and Cliodhna Manning (Kilkenny City Harriers) at bay. Sharlene should do just about enough to take the National 400m title. Updates will be available on Tipperary Live Saturday and Sunday.

Both days are livestreaming on Athletics Ireland YouTube Channel, and live on RTE 2 on Sunday evening from 18.05 to 20.30.
