Tipperary's Katie Bergin wins her first national senior athletics title

Katie Bergin, Moyne AC, continued her superb season at the 123.ie National Track and Field Championships at a windswept Morton Stadium in Dublin at the weekend.

The Tipperary athlete followed up her recent Under 23 gold in the 100 metres to claim the senior 200 metres crown in 24.60 and win her first-ever national senior title.

Bergin was chased home by Laura Nally (Galway City Harriers AC) in 25.18 and Janine Boyle (Finn Valley AC) in 25.21.
