Hoolie draws the crowds and is a massive hit in the Hills

The village of Upperchurch was rocking over the weekend as the Hoolie in the Hills music festival brought music lovers from near and far. 

A big attendance enjoyed some marvellous acts as part of an open air spectacular in Kinnanes Field organised by local publican Fergal Butler of Kinnanes Bar. 

Upperchurch has always been a destination for live music and this festival followed on from events in the past such as the Ned of the Hill festival which was first held in the 1980s.

There were some top performances on Saturday including a great set from local band Seskin Lane as well as Gary Og, Fieldsy and Ruaile Buaile.

Headliners Chasing Abbey kept the tunes flowing and sent the crowds home happy despite the odd shower of rain. The sun shone in the village on Sunday as the crowd returned for more.

Buses filtered into the Upperchurch throughout the afternoon and a festival spirit was in the air. 

The Dorans, The Bootlegs, and Tradstone all got the crowd going and local band The Lines also played a fantastic set on Sunday with Tomás and Maureen Ryan hitting the right note with punters.

Well-known Dublin singer and songwriter George Murphy kept the lively crowd singing and dancing with his band The Rising Son.

Headliners Rebel Hearts worked the crowd into a frenzy with a high energy performance while DJ NDT capped off a fantastic weekend in the village of Upperchurch.
