Tipperary Council proposes temporary closure of Carrick-on-Suir street for close to two weeks

Tipperary County Council has notified the public of its intention to close Bridge Street in Carrick-on-Suir for nearly two weeks in September to facilitate the laying of a new duct as part of the National Broadband Project.

The council has issued the notice under the Temporary Closing of Roads Act.

According to the notice, the local authority proposes to close the L-2708-1 Bridge Street from the R85 to Strand Lane in Carrick from 8am on Monday, September 11 to 6pm on Friday, September 22.

It proposes diverting traffic travelling along Main Street R-885 along the R-885 through West Gate and along Greystone Street to the N24 at the roundabout where traffic are to continue straight to the Suir-side Junction and turn left onto the L-6712-1 and travel along North Quay to the Bridge Street junction.

Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Road Closures, Roads & Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh not later than 12 noon on Thursday, August 17 or by e-mail to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie
