Willie Maher will remain in charge of the Laois hurling team for 2024 and is in the process of finalising his backroom team.
Maher remains in charge of the senior hurlers alongside selector and coach Eamon Jackman. He will commence his second term next season having replaced Cheddar Plunkett for the 2023 campaign.
Maher landed an All-Ireland minor title with his native Tipperary and also led the county under-21 team before taking Cuala in Dublin and other prominent club sides. He was a selector with Derek McGrath in the Waterford set-up in 2014
His Laois side finished third in this year’s Joe McDonagh Cup championship campaign and came close to making the final -being just a single point outside a place in the final of the competition.
They secured three wins, a draw and experienced just one defeat and will now look to go progress further next year.
