ANNOUNCEMENT: Dualla Show will NOT be rescheduled this year

CANCELLATION UPDATE

ANNOUNCEMENT: Dualla Show will NOT be rescheduled this year

It is now confirmed "off" for this year

The organisers of the Dualla Show have made the difficult decision to full cancel this years show.

Originally scheduled for last Sunday, persistent weather conditions forced the cancellation last weekend but the possibility remained that another date could be found, however the decision was made to full call off the show this year.

The announcers said to send all queries to the info@duallashow.ie email address. They made the following statement regarding the much-loved one day event:

"Due to extremely poor weather conditions on Sunday 27th August we took the difficult decision to cancel Dualla Show 2023 on public safety grounds. We wish to acknowledge the severe disruption and inconvenience this caused to the general public, competitors, sponsors, vendors and to the local community.

"GROUND CONDITIONS: After an initial 6am inspection of the show field and car parks on the morning of the show the weather continued to deteriorate until it became clear that the site had become unsafe to the general public. The necessity to move more than 500 trucks from the show field in wet ground conditions also posed additional logistical issues and public safety concerns.

"It was at this point we chose to officially cancel the event, close off the field to the general public, alert the council and Gardai and communicate the message through local and national media, our website and our social media channels.

"LIVESTOCK: At the time of cancellation many cattle and sheep entrants were already on site and unloading. After inspecting the livestock area it was decided that this event could proceed safely amongst the entrants but without the general public.

"ROAD CLEANUP: We want to thank local residents for their understanding and patience both during the lead up to the show and especially in the aftermath of the cancellation and the significant cleanup operation required to make surrounding roads safe. Dualla Show relies on the support of the local community and this is deeply appreciated by the organisers.

"RESCHEDULING PLANS: We regret that it is not possible to reschedule Dualla Show 2023.

"ONLINE REFUNDS: Refunding of all online general admittance tickets, SJI entries and dog show entries will start this week. Note that processing times may vary depending on each bank and could take up to 10 business days. Please keep an eye on this page for additional updates or contact us directly on info@duallashow.ie with any questions or concerns.

"SPONSORS & VENDORS: We want to thank all our sponsors, traders, exhibitors and vendors for their extreme patience and understanding, many of whom had already arrived onsite prior to the cancellation notice. Dualla Show management will be in contact directly in the coming weeks regarding the cancellation.

"APPRECIATION: We wish to apologise to all the people who travelled long distances only to be disappointed on arrival.

"We want to thank volunteers from the local community who gave up so much of their time to help safely remove trucks, support vehicles and service equipment from the field in extremely difficult conditions. We would also like to thank the Gardai for their help with traffic management and communicating the cancellation notice so efficiently.

"LANDOWNERS: We want to thank the landowners who entrusted us with the use of their fields and for their patience as we restore the ground to its original state. The show would not exist without their generosity and is deeply appreciated by the organisers.

"Finally, Dualla Show committee want to acknowledge all the general support and goodwill received from both inside and outside the community. We are extremely grateful for the help and support."
