North Tipperary Development Company has assisted over 3,300 people in the past year
North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC) launched its 2022 annual report at the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) stand at the Ploughing Championships this Wednesday, September 20.
In 2022 NTDC conducted almost 40,000 separate actions and interventions that supported 3,324 people and 185 local groups, assisted over 200 jobseekers into employment and self-employment, ran over 80 courses and managed 16 programmes on behalf of public funders, revealed Jim Finn, Chairperson.
NTDC also outlined the wide range of impacts across employment, well-being, inclusion, domestic safety, rural enterprise, community services, youth services, energy, environment and asylum and migrant support services, he said.
Michael Murray CEO outlined his appreciation of board of directors, volunteers, colleagues who make up the 70 staff and 220 employment programme participants and stated that none of the work would be possible without the funding agencies / departments and their staff members who support NTDC’s work.
He thanked Tipperary County Council, members of Tipperary LCDC, DRCD, Tusla, HSE, DSP, TETB, Department of Justice, SEAI, DCEDIY and other funders for the support in ensuring that resources were made available to support the communities of north Tipperary during 2022.
Nancy White company secretary paid “a special word of thanks to Chairperson Jim Finn whose term of office expires soon. Jim’s input is impossible to quantify but the impacts of his skilful stewarding of the ship will be felt across North Tipperary for many years to come”.
The Irish Local Development Network CLG (ILDN), of which NTDC is a member, is the representative body for Ireland’s 49 local development companies (LDCs).
NTDC is a local development company and provide programmes in childcare / creches, youth services, training, job supports, community development services including SICAP, enterprise supports and grants, counselling and family supports, health and wellbeing supports, the Ascend domestic abuse service, older person services, social enterprise, rural development including LEADER, and asylum and migrant support services.
The company has main offices in Nenagh, Thurles and Roscrea and delivers outreach supports across north Tipperary.
