Locals turned out in huge numbers this week to see shooting at the Rock of Cashel
In excess of 150 crew and cast ascended on the Rock of Cashel this week where filming scenes were being shot for a new conceptual pilot episode of a show called "The Wayfinders".
This week's shoot in Cashel drew the locals out in great numbers and excitement levels were high amongst those present as they were glued to the battle scene action taking place on the south facing slope outside the walls of the Rock of Cashel.
The sun shone and all the special effects on show really added to the spectacle where actors in medieval costumes turned back the clock through time in the historic town.
One tourist, visiting the Tipperary town from New York City, quipped: "It has been fascinating to see a real film set in a field in Tipperary with hundreds of local people about.
"It can transport you through time. We are travelling to Cahir on Thursday so we will check it out in the Castle there as well hopefully."
Filming commenced in Cashel on Monday and continued all day Tuesday before the crew and cast will travel to Cahir Castle where filming is set to continue later into the week.
In recent times Cahir Castle was named Europe's favourite filming location after being nominated by Screen Ireland, and the iconic building has been a location for many movies and television shows through the years, including "The Tudors" and "Excalibur".
It is fair to say Tipperary is fast becoming the "go to place" for making movies and TV shows.
