Bagatelle are back on the road and are set to perform at the National Opera House

Bagatelle will draw the crowds

A firm favourite of Tipperary folk, Bagatelle, will celebrate the memory of lead singer Liam Reilly with a special performance in the National Opera House Wexford on January 6, 2024 where they will be joined on the night by special guests Donna Marie Sludd and Shane Mc Donal.

One of Ireland’s most loved bands, buying tickets early is advised and the tickets go on sale Friday, October 6th at 10am.

Formed in Bray in 1978, Bagatelle, achieved several No.1 Singles with iconic songs like ‘Summer in Dublin, ‘Second Violin’ and ‘Trump Card’. 

They also have enjoyed multi-platinum and gold album sales with classic emigration songs like ‘Streets of New York’, ‘Flight of the Earls’ and ‘Boston Rose’, all written by front man Liam Reilly. 

Following the death of Bagatelle lead singer Liam Reilly on January 1, 2021, TG4 aired a documentary about him. 'Bagatelle - Ómos do Liam Reilly', first aired New Years Eve 2021, a year after Liam O’Reilly’s untimely passing.

The remaining members of the band then decided to go back on the road to celebrate the Life of Liam Reilly, his music and the Bagatelle Legacy. 

On January 6, 2024, just days after the anniversary of his passing Bagatelle and Friends will perform at the National Opera House Wexford. 

The show will be extra special as two of Wexford’s own Donna Marie Sludd (Enniscorthy) and Shane Mc Donald (Campile) will join Bagatelle to be part of the Bagatelle and Friends Show.

Wexford born Singer / Songwriter Donna Marie Sludd, has been surrounded by music from birth, from performing with her parents in the Nighthawks Country Band she later joining legendary southeast based band Breeze Junkie / Breeze 52.

Donna Marie eventually made the transfer from band member to solo artist by entering RTE All Irelands Got Talent. After reaching the final she released her debut single ‘Simple Song’ which made it to the Irish Charts on the first week of its release. Donna Marie’s musical aspirations are very much on the up. 

Her follow up singles ‘Little Angel’ , ‘I Can’t See It’, ‘Another Way To Cry’, ‘Right Here Right Now’, and ‘Life Is Good’ have all enjoyed chart success along with her debut album My Voice ( Produced by the late great Gavin Ralston ) She continues to write new songs , while sharing stages with such artists as The Fureys / Brian Kennedy / Derek Ryan / Michael J Cloke / The Saw Doctors / The Stunning & many more.

Shane Mc Donal is an Irish singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. He began playing music at the age of 5 when he got his first drum kit.

Later, he would teach himself piano, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, and violin. He began performing in local venues with his grandfather at the age of 16, before going solo a few years later.

Always an avid songwriter and amateur music producer, he gigged for many years before dedicating himself to writing and recording his own original material.

Now, he’s built a large following mainly around the South-East of Ireland; proving very popular with both his original songs and his unique interpretations of songs spanning a multitude of genres
