Tipperary Studies is seeking to acquire more collections of old photographs of people, places and events in the county to add to its growing digitised archive.

This was the message County Librarian Damien Dullaghan outlined in  his latest report about  the County Council’s  Libraries and Cultural Services  at Carrick-on-Suir Municipal District’s monthly meeting.

He said Tipperary Studies has spent a fair bit on acquiring photographic collections and is seeking to obtain more collections. The service has a team of staff working on digitising photos.

Thurles photographer Ned O’Shea’s archive of photographs  is the latest collection Tipperary Studies has obtained and is  working to digitise.  Tipperary Studies is a reference library and research centre dedicated to the collection of material on all aspects of county Tipperary.
