Electrical power still hasn’t been rolled out to two EV charging stations installed at a Clonmel car park two months ago, Tipperary County Council’s monthly meeting heard.
Cllr Siobhán Ambrose welcomed the installation of the Easy Go charging stations at the council’s new Davis Road car park at the meeting but complained at the ESB’s tardiness in connecting them to electricity power.
“There is a huge gap between the time they are installed and the time they get electrified.
“They are in over a month and a half and we are still waiting for the ESB to electrify them,” she said.
Tipperary County Council Senior Road Engineer Liam Brett acknowledged the ESB can be slow to energise EV charging stations.
He assured Cllr Ambrose the council is working closely with the ESB to get new charging stations up and running and also assured her that the ESB will do the job as there was an agreement in place.
Mr Brett updated the council on progress on its plans to install EV charging stations at 13 locations across the county.
New charging stations in Fethard and Thurles became operational in the past few weeks. And the council was waiting for the ESB to connect new charging stations installed in five other locations.
