Sun came through dark clouds for Tipperary Cemetery Mass last weekend

Cooleeney Mass

The dark rain clouds cleared away and the sun shone out at 2.30pm on Sunday, October 1, to allow the Cooleeney Cemetery mass to proceed as planned. Principal celebrant was Fr. Christy O’Dwyer, A.P. assisted by Fr. Pat Murphy, P.P.
The Readings and Prayers of the Faithful were recited by family and friends of those interred there.

Many thanks to Esther Hogan and the choir who always add so much to the ceremony. Thanks also to sacristan, Eileen, for all the preparations, to John Flynn for providing amplification, to Jim Maher for providing power and to the alter servers.

The last cemetery Mass was celebrated there, also in beautiful sunny conditions on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Congratulations to those who keep this beautiful cemetery in such a splendid condition namely Mary Ellen and Joe Brolan and family, Margaret Brolan, Marion Manton, Martin Manton, and Leah Ralph.

After the Mass, Fr. Christy blessed the graves to the accompaniment of a beautiful rendition of “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes by young Denis Brolan.

Thanks also to those who contributed to the Offertory collection which helps defray the cost of maintenance of the cemetery.
