Gardaí investigate attempted robbery of business premises in Tipperary's largest town

Gardai are investigating an attempted robbery of a business premises in Clonmel last Saturday night. 

A man wearing a balaclava entered the Davis Road premises, located between The Mall and Showgrounds Shopping Centre, shortly after 8pm on October 7.  He was armed with a tool like weapon and demanded money from staff.

 He left the premises empty handed, however, and escaped on foot in the direction of The Showgrounds. 

A Clonmel Garda Station spokesperson said the man was described as low sized and heavy-set in build. His face was covered by a balaclava and he wore an orange hoody top. 

She appealed to anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery or saw suspicious activity in the Davis Road area around 8pm last Saturday to contact Clonmel Garda Station at (052) 6177641.
