Paul Kelly appointed to a three-year term as Tipp football boss with backroom team also confirmed

Tipperary GAA has tonight confirmed the appointment of Dubliner Paul Kelly as the new Tipperary senior football manager for a three-year term.

The former Thomas Davis and Naas boss will be joined by an extensive backroom team, including former Tipp goalkeeper Paul Fitzgerald who comes in as a selector and goalkeeping coach.

Hugh Kenny of Wicklow will be the team coach and will continue in his close relationship with Kelly, having Naas to a Senior Final in 2021 along with Kelly. Currently in place as the GAA Games Manager for Wicklow GAA, Kenny is also a Leinster Hall of Fame Award recipient, and coached Castledermott to an Intermediate County Final in Kildare 2022.

Elsewhere, Adrian O'Brien will take up the role of Performance Coach. A native of Limerick, O'Brien will lead the athletic performance coaching and most recently in 2023, he was the S&C lead with the Clare Senior Hurlers who reached back-to-back Munster Senior Hurling Finals.

Michael O'Sullivan (selector and skills coach), Paddy O'Connor (selector), and Michael Byrnes (performance analyst) make up the rest of the backroom team.
