Tipperary Town Music Festival - Star-studded line-up announced

The fantastic line-up of events for the Tipperary Town Music Festival which will run from May 9 to May 12, 2024

A star-studded line-up for the 2024 Tipperary Town Music Festival has been announced by music promoter John O’Brien.
The announcement was made at the launch of the 2024 festival, at the Porter House, Tipp Town, on Thursday November 2.

The launch took place 6 months prior to the festival in order to give people plenty of time to mark off the dates in their calendars. The festival tickets could also be used as gifts for Christmas as tickets are now on sale at tipperarytown.ie
The festival is from Thursday May 9 to Sunday May 12 (inclusive) at the marquee at Lidl Car Park, Tipperary.

At the launch on Thursday last, the chairman of the festival, Eamonn Ryan, thanked everyone who had been involved in their first festival and in preparations for next year.

Music promoter John O’Brien announced the lineup and said they were starting on Thursday 9 with Claudia Buckley and Johnny Brady.

On Friday night they will have the Tina Turner Tribute, which will be followed by a 80s/90s Disco.
Saturday 11 sees the return of the hugely successful Tumbling Paddies and the final night Sunday sees the Cliona Hagan Band and Mike Denver and his Band.

John O’Brien said that they were trying to suit different crowds for each night.

“We are trying to suit different age groups and different types of music. Sunday night will be a great night of music. We are starting at 7pm on Sunday with Cliona Hagan and her Band until 9pm, followed by local musician Anthony O'Connor, from 9pm to 10pm and then the wonderful Mike Denver from 10pm until closing,” said John.

FANTASTIC LINE-UP

Josephine Carroll said that it was a fantastic line-up with something to suit everyone.

“It’s fantastic that it is coming to the town again in 2024 and it would make for a great Christmas present for people,” said Josephine.

Chairpman of the Tipperary Vintage Rally, Jack Leonard, said that he hoped for a bigger and better festival in 2024, while Paul O'Callaghan of Tipperary Tidy Towns said that it was great to be associated with such a great event and that it would bring business to the town and increase the footfall, which was so important.

John Traynor from Tipperary Cooperative said that they were delighted to be associated with the event and read a statement from their CEO, John Daly.

“"On behalf of the Board, Management and Staff of the Cooperative, it was a pleasure to be the main sponsor of Tipp Town Music Festival in 2023. It was a great success and we see the festival carrying on and getting bigger every year. We hope to continue our involvement going forward and a request for sponsorship for 2024 will go before the Board in due course.”

John added that he had attended a couple of the shows in 2023 and that they were brilliantly managed, stewarding was excellent and the people really enjoyed themselves. John Hartnett from Tipperary Credit Union said that the event was tremendous for the town and he congratulated all those who were involved under the Chair of Eamonn Ryan.

“I am passionate about the town, I was born and raised here. We have enough negativity, we need more positivity and I am sure that this event will be another great one for the town in 202,” said John.

Walter Hennessy from Tipperary Races also spoke and said they were only too delighted to support this event.
“It is lovely to see an innovative event like the music festival taking place and it is a wonderful thing for the town and I hope it will be a great success” said Walter. Following the formalities there was entertainment from local songwriter and musician, Anthony O’Connor.

Congratulations to the organising committee and I am sure that it will be another very successful music festival.
