TFI Local Link Tipperary launches new bus service connecting Portumna to Nenagh

TFI Local Link announce schedule changes following overnight freeze

North Tipperary towns and villages are now getting connected

TFI Local Link Tipperary is launching a new bus service between Portumna and Nenagh, from Monday the 27th of November.

This new route is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the National Transport Authority (NTA) as part of the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Network.

Route 322 will operate four daily return services Monday to Saturday, with one additional return service between Puckaun and Nenagh as well as three daily return services on Sunday.

The route will connect villages and areas such as Nenagh, Ballycommon, Dromineer, Puckaun, Coolbawn, Ballinderry, Terryglass, Carrigahorig, Lorrha and Portumna.

The route will also provide new peak-time and evening services seven days a week for commuters, as well as improved connectivity to regional bus and rail services in Nenagh and Portumna.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Anthony Moroney, TFI Local Link Tipperary General Manager said: “This service is a considerable investment by the NTA and Local Link Tipperary in the transport infrastructure of rural Tipperary.

“It will provide a new transport link for the rural villages and townlands in the Lough Derg area, which will allow residents and visitors to access the various employment, educational, tourist and social facilities of Portumna, Nenagh and areas along the route. It will also allow for improved connectivity for onward travel to Limerick and Dublin City.”
