Stage is set for this weekend's Winter Pride event in Tipperary

A varied line-up of events has been organised for Winter Pride in Clonmel on this Saturday

Preparations are now being finalised for Clonmel Winter Pride, which will be held on this Saturday, November 25.

Clonmel Pride is a voluntary non-profit, community organisation that strives to promote unity, inclusion and awareness of sexual and gender diversity.

They run monthly coffee and chat mornings and recently celebrated with Boston Scientific Clonmel, who were the winners of LGBTQ+ Pride Employee Resource Group at the annual GALAS LGTBQ+ Awards in Dublin.

Significant upcoming events, such as Clonmel Winter Pride on this Saturday, provide the opportunity to celebrate diversity and fellowship through creating a safe, inclusive environment in Clonmel for LGBTQI+ people, their families and their allies.

Clonmel Winter Pride will kick off with the Pride Parade, a vibrant, joyous spectacle that sends a powerful message of inclusivity and acceptance.

All are invited to meet at Gordon Place car park at 12.30pm on Saturday, with the parade starting at 1.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join the parade or cheer on the sidelines.

Family Fun Day then takes place all afternoon from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Kickham Barracks Hall on Dillon Street (across the road from Eldons).

You can expect a host of entertainment, including live performances from local musical talent and Ireland’s top drag queens that will have you dancing and singing along.

Inspirational speakers will share their stories and there will be kids’ entertainment including face painting, stalls showcasing a variety of goodies and information, and an art corner. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.

On that evening, get ready to own the night at Clonmel Winter Pride as Clonmel’s legendary drag queen Avryll Nitrate will host Pride after Dark at O’Keeffes.

The evening’s spectacular line-up includes fierce drag queens from all around Ireland including Éire Comme, Éiresure and Lucina Schynning.

The epic Sing Along Social - the zero commitment choir who have been popping up at festivals in Ireland, the UK and beyond since 2015 - will have Clonmel singing its heart out to cheesy pop and the guilty pleasures of Whitney, Mariah and Shania.

DJ Coyote will keep the party going into the early hours.

Doors open at 7pm, the show starts at 8pm sharp and admission is €10 cash only at the door, for over 18s.
