The former XtraVision shop on Main Street, Tipperary Town is to get a new lease of life as a gift shop.
The new shop will be called 'Merlin Magic', and the proprietors will be Maureen and Tony Walsh formerly of Wellworths.
The name of the shop is a nod to Maureen's former shop, 'The House of Merlin' that many of us will remember as a magical treasure trove on the Main Street.
The new shop will stock homeware, giftware, candles, lamps and much more. We are told that you will also see some familiar faces from Wellworths behind the counter in 'Merlin Magic'.
Maureen and Tony Walsh are pictured in the former Xtra Vision premises on the Main Street, which is due to open under the name of 'Merlin Magic' with Maureen & Tony as the new proprietors.
It is wonderful news for Maureen & Tony but also for the centre of Tipperary Town, which has been suffering along that side of the Main Street since the closure of Wellworths.
It is wonderful to see them both back in business and is a great boost for the town, bringing life back to a vacant premises, in the run up to Christmas.
We are told that they will be open the first week in December and for those who do not know the premises it is next to Heffernan's Carry Out.
The very best of luck to them both and I have no doubt but that it will be a great success.
