Borrisokane darts star Dylan Slevin is ready to take on Michael van Gerwen and company this weekend

Michael van Gerwen is one of the favourites for the tournament

Dylan Slevin is in the running for glory and a huge pay packet tonight. The Tipperary native hits the big time tonight at the 2023 Cazoo Players Championship Finals where all the big names of the sport will converge.

The event takes place across the weekend at the Butlin's Minehead Resort in Minehead over in England.

Michael van Gerwen, who is bidding to win the title for the eighth time, is among the favourites for the £500,000 three-day tournament. He is up against Callan Rydz in the first round while Gerwyn Price takes on Ricky Evans.

North Tipp native Dylan Slevin replaced Danny Noppert in the competition as Noppert withdrew from the field as his partner is expecting a baby.

By the rules of the competition, by the next non-qualified player from the Players Championship Order of Merit which happens to be Dylan Slevin.  
 
The Borrisokane native missed out on qualifying for the TV event by just one spot however he now will take his place in the championships and will take on Matt Campbell in the prime tea time slot this evening. 

The televised tournament will be broadcast on ITV4 across the UK, and it can also be accessed worldwide with the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners.

Coverage will also be broadcast on PDCTV (excluding subscribers in the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland), while action from Stage Two will be broadcast worldwide on PDCTV on Friday and Saturday.
