Aisling Kilroy who established The Narrow Space 20 years ago in Clonmel
The Narrow Space Gallery & Gifts opened its doors on Mitchel St Clonmel in November 2003. To mark the occasion, the gallery is hosting its 20th Christmas exhibition with a celebration party on Sunday 3 December next, starting at 3.30pm - all are welcome!
Comprising a ground floor space selling a wide range of Irish made products and a bright airy upstairs gallery space, over the past 20 years The Narrow Space has earned a special place in the hearts of lovers of beautiful things in Clonmel and further afield. Founded by Aisling Kilroy, the gallery has hosted over 120 exhibitions and shown the work of over 100 artists, many of whom were showing their work in South Tipperary for the first time.
The shop downstairs showcases the work of over 80 Irish makers whose wonderful creativity and talents bring us candles, cards, jewellery, ceramics, pottery, prints, wood and so much more.
"It has been amazing to witness the explosion in the number Irish designers and makers over the last twenty years," says Aisling "The choice available is four or five times greater that it was when I opened my doors back in 2003. So to all the designers and makers who so generously share their energy, creativity and gifts with us, many, many thanks! And it goes without saying that I wouldn't still be here without all the wonderful customers from Clonmel, Cashel, Carrick, Cahir and further afield who have come through our doors, had the chats and made their purchases, be they for €5 or much more! And I have been blessed with the best bunch of people who have worked with me over the past 20 years, none more so than the current team of Phil Kavanagh, Dewi O Loinsigh and Maire de Leastar. So please do join us on Sunday afternoon to allow us to say thank you for your support."
The Narrow Space Gallery & Gifts is open every day in December - Monday to Saturday 10.30am - 5.30pm, Sunday 12noon - 5.00pm.
