It was a morning full of community spirit last Saturday in Grangemockler village.
The Tidy Towns hosted a gardening information morning from 10-12pm.

There was great support for the event. The morning kicked off with the secretary (Ann Jones-Grace) welcoming everyone to the event and extending a thank you for the generous donations for the raffle.
Ann also thanked Tipperary County Council for their support. The Chairperson (Kathleen Brunnock) was next to the stage,

Kathleen thanked all the committee members and volunteers for all their hard work throughout the year.
Our first speaker Monica Flemming was then introduced. The audience very much enjoyed Monica’s presentation and appreciated all the advice given on how to gain extra points in the Tidy Towns Competition.
Cathaoirleach Kieran Burke then welcomed everyone to the event. He made a presentation of a beautiful bouquet to Chairperson Kathleen Brunnock for being the driving force behind the Grangemockler Tidy Towns for the past 40 years. This was applauded by all those in attendance.

The second speaker was Albert Nolan.
The Secretary (Ann Jones-Grace) introduced Albert and thanked him for filling in on short notice due to the cancellation of our scheduled keynote speaker.

The audience were engrossed in Albert’s presentation and enjoyed viewing some of the items Albert brought with him, such as a bat detector, a preserved bat, seeds etc.

There was a selection of stalls at the event, such as, Kilkenny Men’s Shed, Mirjams Kitchen, Camphill Grangemockler, the Department of the Environment (Fiona Flynn), Iryna our local Ukrainian Lady, who all had a fine selection of beautiful items for sale on the day.
To finish the Secretary carried out the raffle, where a fine selection of 17 prizes were won.
