Tipperary's hurlers and footballers will be in action in pre-season competitions in Munster

Tipperary's senior hurlers and footballers will compete in the traditional pre-season competitions next month.

The hurlers will play their opening game in the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League in Group B away to Waterford on Sunday January 7.

They are at home to Kerry on the following Sunday, January 14.

Meanwhile, the footballers begin their McGrath Cup campaign away to Kerry in Group A on Wednesday January 3, before playing Limerick at a Tipperary venue on Saturday January 13.

The McGrath Cup football final is pencilled in for Friday January 19 while the Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League Final is fixed for Sunday January 21.
