Clonmel Lions Club is hosting a lunch in the Talbot Hotel on Sunday February 11, followed by a performance by The Clonmel Concert Band and a raffle. All funds raised will go towards Barnardos Clonmel.

Joanne O’Gorman, Project Leader with Barnardos says “We are so grateful to be the local beneficiaries of such a wonderful event from Clonmel Lions.

“Last year, we worked with over 250 families and children in south Tipperary. Funds raised by the Lions will go towards creating our sensory garden, furnishings for our new therapeutic building and will help buy resources for the children using the therapeutic space.

“It also means we will have more space to welcome additional children to the service because childhood lasts a lifetime”.

Clonmel Lions Club now has tickets available for €50 each and is urging the local community to embrace the holiday spirit of giving by considering these tickets as unique Christmas presents.

Clonmel Lions Club is a dedicated group committed to making a positive impact on the community.

Barnardos’  mission is to deliver services and work with families, communities and partners to transform the lives of vulnerable children who are affected by adverse childhood experiences.

Lions Club President Paul Cremmins says “the combined efforts of all those involved should ensure a successful and unique experience.

“As well as providing much-needed funds for the project, it will also help to highlight the tremendous work being carried out by Barnardos in south Tipperary”.

He thanked the Talbot Hotel Clonmel for their support and advice on managing the event.

Paul Cremmins paid a special thank you to the Clonmel Concert Band for their generosity of time in providing the musical entertainment for the occasion, which promises to be a memorable one.

“Hosting such an event comes well within the remit of Clonmel Lions Club, whose basic motto reads We Serve,” he added.

Tickets are available from reception at the Talbot Hotel and may also be booked on the Lions Club mobile number (089-4229675).
