Clonmel's Shauna O'Keeffe has got the New Year off to a good start by winning the Pro Debut of the Year category in the Irish-Boxing.com Awards.

Going straight in at the deep end, the Tipperary super featherweight fought her way past Lithuania's Vaida Masiokaite in a six-rounder at York Hall in London last month in her first fight as a professional.

From the thousands of votes cast, she took this award ahead of youngster Matthew Tyndall.

The winners in other categories of the awards included Katie Taylor, Tommy Hyde, Jack Marley, Ella Archbold, Conor Quinn, Kieran Molloy and Dee Walsh.

Shauna also won an Annerville award, sponsored by Bulmers, in the 2023 list of award winners, as voted by the members of the Tipperary United Sports Panel.

These awards will be presented at a function at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel on Saturday night, January 27.
