Tipperary will feature on RTE's Ear To The Ground this week as a camera crew visits the man looking after the hooves of some of the world's most valuable horses in the Premier County.

The show will see presenter Darragh McCullough visit farrier Larry Winters in Tipperary to discuss his fascinating career and the impact the animals he tends to have on the equine world.

"Each horse individually has the ability to change someone's life. I they can harness the ability of these horses; the sky's the limit," he tells Darragh in a sneak preview of the episode.

The episode featuring Larry will air this Thursday at 7pm on RTÉ One television. It will be repeated on Sunday on RTÉ One at 1.10pm.

The shows will also head to Laois where presenter Maeve Dineen meets people who are grappling with the thorny issue of who will inherit the farm, and Kerry, where Ella McSweeney is in the Mahrees meeting a vegetable farmer unsure if he has a future in the business.
