It's that time of year again when you dust off your loudest cheers and biggest boos and step into the land of make-believe for a few hours.

The Simon Ryan Theatre at the Tipperary Excel will this year be transformed into an Arabian wonderland by Tipperary Pantomime Society, as they take you on a fantastic journey to the land of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.

Without a doubt the pantomime is the biggest source of family entertainment after Christmas and this year is no exception.

The production this year is a little different in that it's taking a journey to the Middle East, where you will be guaranteed saris, sand, palm trees and of course the chest of glimmering gold treasure hidden in a magic cave.

The society has been working very hard over the last few months and the fruits of all their labour will soon be on show when they take to the stage to wow the audiences. The 2024 production commences on Wednesday, January 17 and runs to to Saturday, January 20.

The society is celebrating 40 years of bringing fairytales to life in Tipperary town, captivating audiences, making memories and banishing the winter blues with beautiful singing and dancing along with colourful costumes and settings.

With a cast of 90 from the age of 7 upwards, this promises to be a night full of fun and frolics.

Tickets are on sale at the Tipperary Excel box office on 062-80520.
