The winner of the Sean Lyons Sports Executive Award in the 2023 Annerville Awards is Geraldine Kinane.

The various roles that Geraldine has occupied with Drom/Inch have played no small part in the club becoming one of the major forces in the game.

Those roles have included chairperson, secretary and PRO. She has also managed juvenile and adult teams and has served on senior and intermediate county management teams.

All of these roles were elevated under Geraldine’s stewardship. She is regarded as the backbone of the club and the driving force behind the senior team’s success, as they recorded the five in a row of county championships in 2023. Geraldine is never found wanting and will be the first to put her hand up when work has to be done, while her attention to detail is exemplary.

She is currently PRO with the Tipperary County Camogie Board. She has raised the profile of Tipperary camogie to a great extent on social media and also by arranging the live streaming of as many games as possible, as well as supplying reports to the local media.

The attendance at both club and county games has risen as a result of all of her hard work.

The Tipperary Sports Stars of the Year will receive their Annerville awards, sponsored by Bulmers, from the Tipperary United Sports Panel at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel on Saturday night, January 27. Some tickets are still available from Sports Panel Treasurer Ken Conway, tel. 087-6784510.
