The Raparees - who celebrate the late Tipperary legend Shane MacGowan - are back on tour!
Following a sold out 12 date tour across Ireland and the UK in December 2023 Belfast’s busiest folk band, The Rapparees, are thrilled to be back on the road in 2024 with dates announced today for Cork, Galway and Mayo. Tickets go on sale Thursday, February 1 at 10AM.
Formed over 15 years ago The Rapparees supported their idols the Pogues early on in their career. Taking this experience with them in forging their sound they are pleased to recreate The Pogues experience for fans since 2014. Ten years on and over 30 sold-out shows later, their Christmas Pogues tribute concerts are now an annual tradition In Belfast, Dublin and the UK.
The Rapparees have been making waves in folk music circles for over 15 years. Renowned for their unique and distinctive sound with their trademark ‘rough & ready’ style of playing, reminiscent of that of Shane McGowan and The Pogues, forged in those early days on tour.
The Rapparees reproduce the magic of hits such as ‘Fiesta’, ‘A Rainy Night in Soho’, ‘Dirty Old Town’, ‘A Pair of Brown Eyes’, ‘Streams of Whiskey’, ‘Sally McLennane’, and ‘If I Should Fall From Grace With God’, not forgetting a certain festive classic.
