Nicholas Lonergan celebrated for his years of service to Solohead GAA club

Nicholas Lonergan has completed 50 years serving his local club.

Sologhead GAA Club celebrated last weekend and the club treasurer Nicholas Lonergan - who recently completed fifty years as a club officer - was rightly applauded for all his work across the decades. The club currently have a brand new astro turf pitch and are doing tremendous work week in week out for the young people of the parish. At the recent club celebration, two time All-Ireland winning former Tipperary hurler Niall O'Meara was the special guest on hand to present Nicholas with a token of the clubs appreciation.

The treasurer served on numerous committees and held various positions over the last half century. The definition of a real club stalwart, as the club continue to serve the community well in the area. Their senior side won back to back junior B divisional titles and are an ambitious club looking to push through the grades. The new astro turf is used by various groups in the local community and volunteers like Nicholas are leading the way.
