'A true lady' - Tributes paid to 93-year-old Tipperary mother and grandmother

Tributes have been paid after the sad passing of a 93-year-old Tipperary woman.

Philomena (Phyllis) Larkin (nee Greene), Kilsheelan Village, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary passed away peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital on Monday afternoon surrounded by her loving family.

Pre-deceased by her first husband Raymond (Hanrahan) and her second husband Richard (Larkin), she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Ray, daughter Sinéad, grandchildren Raymond, Karen, Patrick, Sarah, Hazel and Tommy.

Her great-grandchildren Daryl, Billy, Harry, Kaycee, Keeva, Harlow-Rae, Cree, Patrick, Lara, Cameron and Holly, sisters Teresa (Scotland) and Imelda (England), brothers-in-law John (Moon), Denis (Larkin), Bob (Ironside) and Johnny (Sullivan), sister-in-law Phil (Jenner), nephews, nieces, extended family, Clare, Jonathan and Dot and a wide circle of friends.

She will be especially missed by her "little dog Pluto", according to her RIP.ie death notice.

Her funeral mass took place on Thursday at St Mary’s Church, Gambonsfield, Kilsheelan and she was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Tributes have been paid on RIP.ie with one friend saying: "Sincere condolences to Raymond and Sinead and extended family on the sad passing of Phyllis. Your day was so much better when you met Phyllis for the chat or the Werthers. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Another tribute read: "She was always so friendly and endearing when you met her. I will always have fond memories of her. May her gentle soul rest in peace."

A third tribute read: "Sincere condolences to Sinead, Raymond and extended family on the death of Phyllis. What a lovely lady, at one with nature and always with a bright smile. To meet and chat with her on the riverbank added extra pleasure to any walk. May she rest in peace."
