Irish rugby star celebrates wedding with exclusive five-star Cashel Palace Hotel reception

Irish rugby star Robbie Henshaw has married his longtime love, Sophie Marren, at a beautiful ceremony in Tipperary.

The sportsman got married yesterday (March 21) in a church ceremony surrounded by friends, family and rugby teammates before arriving at the lavish 5-star Cashel Palace Hotel for the reception.

A Palladian manor, the Cashel Palace Hotel is a luxury hideaway in Tipperary surrounded by stunning gardens and a michelin-star restaurant, The Bishop's Buttery.

Robbie and his new wife Sophie reportedly met while both were studying at University College Dublin (UCD) approximately ten years ago, and got engaged at Adare Manor in 2022.

Yesterday's wedding celebration comes following Ireland's win over Scotland in the Six Nations on Saturday (17-13), with spirits sure to be flying high among the wedding party, congregation, and the wider Cashel community.

According to the Irish Independent, three days of music and celebrations are underway, with a party reportedly planned for Foley's Bar tonight (March 22).

Several photos have popped up both on Robbie and Sophie's official Instagram profiles, including one of the newly betrothed in the church, Robbie's suited up teammates having a pint, and another of the happy couple's rings.
