ROUNDERS OPEN DAY POSTPONED DUE TO GROUND CONDITIONS
An introductory Rounders Open Day which was planned to be held on The Lawn at Marlfield Hurling Club on Easter Monday, April 1 has been postponed due to the wet condition of the ground presently.
A spokesman for the club on Monday evening last said the club is determined to reschedule a new date as soon as ground conditions allow when the weather improves.
Although one of the four games originally promoted by the GAA, Rounders has always remained very much the Cinderella sport in the Association. However, there are signs of a great increase in interest in the sport throughout the country in recent times.
Marlfield Hurling Club was greatly looking forward to providing this new innovation for the village and the Clonmel area generally, and are determined to get it up and running over the coming weeks or months.
