'There will be uprisings,' Councillor says there is a lot of local frustration around road schemes

Councillor Noel Coonan said people are “frustrated” by the process of applying for the Local Improvement and Community Involvement schemes.

He said people who are not approved have to apply and reapply and in the interim do not know what to do.

He asked that the council simplify the process.

District Engineer Thomas Duffy said that the eligibility process is determined by the central government departments and not up to the council.
