Councillor Jim Ryan has called for support for a local group trying to maintain the Ladyswell walk in Thurles.
He said at this week’s Thurles Municipal District meeting that there is no signage or life buoys along the walk and the gates were recently stolen.
He said it is the responsibility of the local authority and that the community group is “losing heart.”
LAWPRO’s Fran Igoe said that this is an issue of anti-social behaviour.
He said they do not have the resources to address the issues in Ladyswell and that the council and the community need to work together.
